Church Hopping No More.
After four looooonnnnnnggggg weeeks of Church hopping, I have finally decided on a Church. I started with seven potential Churches, but was able to narrow them down rather quickly. I actually think it was toooo quick, and I wouldn’t recommend anyone to pick their Church as fast as I did. In this post, I will share couple reasons why I chose the Church I did as well as other things...

Church Hopping Musing #2
So, Christmas lands on a Sunday this year. How perfect right! My personal experience today has been quite different. I didn’t know that sooo many Churches don’t have service on Sunday because of Christmas. How absurd is that?! I can’t seem to formulate a single legitimate reason for doing this. But anyhow, I suppose it makes my Church hopping stint significantly shorter. Two of...

Church Hopping Musing #1
So it begins… Ever since I was saved by the grace of God, 3+ years ago, I’ve been at the same Church. Now that I’ve moved back home, for the first time in my life, I will be “church hopping” as a genuine Christian. I’ve technically church hopped before during my first year of undergrad at UCLA, but that hardly counts! At that particular time, I visited only two...

Bless the Lord, O My Soul!
After years of disobedience, I have finally been baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. May all the glory, honor and praise be given to the One who is solely responsible. For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be glory forever. Amen. -October 23, 2011

“The Lord’s Supper, which was instituted by Jesus, and which is the only regular commemorative act authorized by him, dramatizes neither his birth nor his life, neither his words nor his works, but only his death. Nothing could indicate more clearly the central significance that Jesus attached to his death. It was by his death that he wished above all else to be remembered. There is...

Prayer of Blessing to the Lord
For me, reading the Old Testament is usually interesting. To be completely honest, some of the books, e.g. 1 & 2 Kings, are EXTREMELY boring and seemingly useless. hahaha. Don’t judge me! I still read them word for word! Anyhow, one of the main things I love about reading the OT is learning about the men and women of God who lived before us. I find it extremely helpful, for my own...

Elkanah
Elkanah [in Hebrew] - God has purchased. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.                                                   1 Corinthians 6:19-20

A Reverance for the Passion Week
Passion Week. Do we, Christians, care? Do I care? To non-believers, the Passion Week has absolutely no significance or meaning, but to US. Isn’t it EVERYTHING? When I think of Easter Sunday, why is it that the first thing that comes to my mind is the free lunch that the Church provides after service? Am I the only person who thinks this way? Quite possibly, but I think not. In fact, some...

the Good is ALWAYS the Enemy of the Best! (repost)
And Samuel said, “Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and presumption is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has also rejected you from being king.” ...

Riddle of the Day
Out of the eater came something to eat. Out of the strong came something sweet. What is that sweet and what is that strong? Read Judges 14 to find out!

Choose This Day
Now therefore fear the Lord and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness. Put away the gods that your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and...

Passage of the Day
Then Joshua said to the house of Joseph, to Ephraim and Manasseh, “You are a numerous people and have great power. You shall not have one allotment only, but the hill country shall be yours, for though it is a forest, you shall clear it and possess it to its farthest borders. For you shall drive out the Canaanites, though they have chariots of iron, and though they are strong.” ...

Verse of the Day

The Power of Prayer
At that time Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord gave the Amorites over to the sons of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, “Sun, stand still at Gibeon, and moon, in the valley of Aijalon.” And the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, until the nation took vengeance on their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jashur? The sun stopped in the midst of...

Treasure the Word of God!

The Daily Struggle To Remember
Only take care, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things that your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life.                                                                  Deuteronomy 4:9 Perhaps, the greatest indicator of our fallen and sinful nature is our tendency to forget. To forget the goodness of God. To forget the gravity and...

A Righteous Stubbornness
And he [Moses] said to him [God], “If your presence will not go with me, do not bring us up from here.                                                            Exodus 33:15 Is there anything worth doing without the presence of God there? How often and how desperately do we pray for the presence of God? Do we even care? Moses did. God tells Moses that He will provide an angel to lead...

As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good,                                                      Genesis 50:20a After Jacob (Israel) passed away, Joseph’s brothers were afraid that Joseph might take revenge on them for all the evil that they did to him when he was a kid. Absolute Surrender
And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself? For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when...

You give and You take away
But when David saw that his servants were whispering together, David understood that the child was dead. And David said to his servants, “Is the child dead?” They said, “He is dead.” Then David arose from the earth and washed and anointed himself and changed his clothes. And he went into the house of the Lord and worshiped. He then went to his own house. And when he...
